Noelia Medina Fernández is an artist and educator working across media art, textile, speculative design and education.
Her practice investigates how living systems — ecological, affective, communal — carry knowledge, memory and possibility. Through installations, wearables, video and embroidery, she builds alternative archives and interfaces for ways of being together that existing systems fail to see.
She holds a Master in Visual Arts and Multimedia from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a BFA from the School of Fine Arts and Design of Puerto Rico.
Between 2016 and 2017 she participated in La Práctica, the Independent Studies Program at Beta Local in San Juan.
Her work has been presented at Ars Electronica Festival (Linz, 2019 and 2020) and in independent spaces across Spain and Puerto Rico.
She has taught at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and facilitated workshops for artists in online and independent contexts. She has collaborated with artists including Thomas Hirschhorn.
She lives and works in rural Andalusia
